The aim of the workshop organised by the V4 Energy Think Tank Platform was to discuss the effects of the Covid-related economic downturn on the green ambitions. We focused on the benefits of greening the economy during the economic recovery, and clarified the reality of green investments under the current GDP forecasts, too. During the debate we had a closer look at those climate goal related measures, which might be the most important under the current economic situation. Besides, participants identified and fostered common preferences for the V4 countries.

Topics included:

• The effect of Covid-19 on the EU 2020 target achievements,
• Climate related elements of the 2021-2027 long-term EU budget & Next Generation EU budget for the V4 countries,
• GDP forecasts and consequences on the available green options.
