Transport decarbonisation measures increasingly raise social risks, particularly with respect to access to transport and affordability. Drawing on preliminary results from ongoing research, we briefly present key challenges and territorial differences related to transport access in Hungary, and discuss good practices and potential policy approaches that simultaneously address environmental sustainability and transport equity. Our aim is to support policy dialogue on concrete types of measures and planning dilemmas that may contribute to more sustainable transport policy decisions over the longer term.
At the event, János Kerékgyártó, Deputy State Secretary responsible for transport strategy and regulatory affairs, will give a presentation and take part in the roundtable discussion.
Additional participants in the roundtable discussion:
Lea Kőszeghy, Senior Research Fellow, ELTE Centre for Social Sciences
András Szele, Lead Expert, Mobilissimus Ltd.
András Kéri, Managing Director, Energiaklub
