Mitigating the Adverse Effects of Droughts and Water Scarcity in Southeast Europe

9:00 - 11:00 CET, REKK Workshop

24 of September, - online

Although South-East Europe (SEE) has traditionally been spared the challenges of severe water scarcity and drought, there is a growing trend of concern. Some areas are experiencing persistent water scarcity and droughts are becoming more frequent. Our project has examined the likely impacts of climate change trends on water resources in different sub-regions over the coming decades and identified the most appropriate and promising adaptation and mitigation measures among several options. The results are summarised in a handbook. During the workshop, we will present the manual, share key findings and provide an opportunity to discuss conclusions and recommendations.
